Patrul Rinpoche's commentary on the Three Words of Garab Dorje
This text consists of a verse summary with its own commentary, and is treasured as the most crucial instruction for the practice of Dzogchen. Brief yet exceedingly profound, it captures the understanding of the trekchö practice, and is “the infallible key point of the path of primordial purity in the natural Dzogpachenpo”. The “Three Words That Strike the Vital Point” are pith instructions for directly experiencing the nature of the mind. Given by the first Dzogchen master, Garab Dorje, to his student Mañjuśrīmitra, these short instructions contain the entire essence of the teachings and are famed for their ability to bring about full realization in those who receive them.
