Enschede, NL: The Blessings of White Tara with Lama Lena
Lama Lena will visit Domain Algoed this year for the fourth time. This year she will teach on: The Blessings of White Tara. Who is White Tara? Within Tibetan Buddhism Tara is seen as an emanation of the bodhisattva of compassion Tchenrezig. She arose from the tears that came from Tchenrezig his eyes when he saw the infinite suffering of the creatures in Samsara. In Tibetan Buddhism there are 21 Tara's. They all contain the essence of the bodhisattva of compassion. In the Tibetan tradition Tara practice is known to everyone: rich or poor, young or old, monk or layman, everyone in Tibet knows the 21 praises to Tara. Tara is experienced by the Tibetans as the mother of the Tibetan people. She is known for her direct intervention in critical situations. While the green Tara is mainly connected with the protection against fears, the white Tara is linked to the long-life aspect. The white Tara manifests itself to eliminate outer and inner obstacles on the path of liberation. The most important outer obstacle is death. Through the intense practice of the white Tara, the causes for obtaining a precious human body and a long life are brought about.
